Campaign for “National High Blood Pressure Day” in 2010 on May 24
Currently, the world is facing the problem of communicable and non-communicable diseases, but the general public tends to be more aware of and interested in communicable diseases, new and recurring epidemics. Meanwhile, non-communicable diseases, especially high blood pressure, are caused by an unhealthy lifestyle, an imbalanced diet, and an increasingly unsafe environment that is expanding day by day, becoming a pandemic worldwide. The government, through the Ministry of Public Health and the Department of Disease Control, recognizes this problem and organized the “National High Blood Pressure Day” campaign on Monday, May 24, 2010, at 11:00 am at the VIP Parking Lot.
The Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, organized a seminar and exhibition to provide knowledge about high blood pressure. There were health screening services for diabetes, high blood pressure, heart and vascular diseases, along with expert advice for attendees, all free of charge. Ms. Pannasiri Kulnatsiri, Deputy Minister of Public Health, presided over the opening ceremony, and Louise Scott, a celebrity representative, participated in the campaign. In addition, attendees could enjoy a mini-concert by artists Tae Vissarus and Taeng Parichat, “Be my guest.”
The 79 ART STUDIO was responsible for the design and organization of the event, with more than 800 attendees participating.

ปัจจุบันทั่วโลกกำลังประสบปัญหาเรื่องโรคติดต่อและโรคไม่ติดต่อ แต่ส่วนใหญ่ประชาชนจะรับรู้และให้ความสนใจกับโรคติดต่อ โรคอุบัติใหม่ โรคอุบัติซ้ำ แต่ในขณะเดียวกันโรคไม่ติดต่อ โดยเฉพาะโรคความดันโลหิตสูง เป็นโรคที่ไม่ได้เกิดจากการติดเชื้อ แต่เกิดจากการมีวิถีชีวิตที่ไม่เหมาะสม ขาดความสมดุล สภาพแวดล้อมไม่ปลอดภัยที่นับวันจะขยายวงกว้างมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ จนกำลังระบาดทั่วทั้งโลก รัฐบาล โดยกระทรวงสาธารณสุข กรมควบคุมโรค เล็งเห็นถึงปัญหาดังกล่าว จึงได้จัดกิจกรรม รณรงค์ “วันความดันโลหิตสูง” ขึ้น ในวันจันทร์ที่ 24 พฤษภาคม 2553 เวลา 11.00 น .ณ ลานจอดรถวีไอพี
กรมควบคุมโรค กระทรวงสาธารณสุข โดยมีการจัดเสวนาทางวิชาการ และแสดงนิทรรศการให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับ โรคความดันโลหิตสูง มีบริการตรวจสุขภาพ เพื่อคัดกรอง เบาหวาน ความดันโลหิตสูง โรคหัวใจและหลอดเลือด พร้อมรับคำแนะนำจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญ ให้กับผู้ที่เข้าร่วมชมงานฟรี โดยมี นางพรรณสิริ กุลนาถศิริ รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงสาธารณสุข เป็นประธาน ในการเปิดงาน และ หลุยส์ สก็อต ตัวแทนศิลปิน ร่วมรณรงค์ในงานนี้ด้วย นอกจากนี้ผู้เข้าร่วมชมงานยังได้เพลิดเพลินกับการแสดงมินิคอนเสิร์ต โดยศิลปิน เต้ วิทย์สรัส และแตง ปาริฉัตร (Be my guest)
